Ruby Bridges and Malala Yousafzai
by Heriberto Z. In the nonfiction story, The Story Of Ruby Bridges, by Robert Coles and the news article “Malala Yousafzai : “I Have The Right”, both girls are brave . For example, in the article of Malala’s speech she states that, “T-hey thought that the bullets would silence us but they failed.” This shows that Malala is still fighting the Taliban. This is because even though Malala got shot by the Taliban thought she wouldn’t say anything but she still kept saying the truth. For example, in the text of the Ruby Bridges Story, it states that Ruby never said anything back to the white people. This demonstrates that Ruby walked through an angry mob telling her to stop going to school. This is important because she never quits. In conclusion, both girls are fearless. Unlike Ruby Bridges, Malala got shot in the head. For example, in the text of Malala’s speech, it states that Malala was just in a bus and then the Taliban came in and shot her. This is because they are mad that `1she talked about them. This shows the Taliban shot Malala because she was talking about how she wanted equal rights. In conclusion, Malala was injured. While Ruby Bridges an Malala Yousafzai have many similarities, they also are different because Malala was saying the Taliban were evil, where as Ruby Bridges was 4 years old and she had no fear crossing through an angry mob. For example, in the text of Ruby Bridges , it states that Ruby didn’t listen to the people that were screaming at her. This shows that Ruby also prayed for the people that were screaming at her. In conclusion, Ruby kept going to school nonstop. |

This show that she didn’t got shot by herself. This demonstrates that Ruby was lonely and Malala was not. While Ruby Bridges and Malala Yousfzai have many similarities, they are also different because Malala was not the only one to be hurt, whereas Ruby Bridges was alone For example in the text The Story of Ruby Bridges, it states that she was the only kid in her classroom.
